Seagate Colony is considered to be an affordable condominium neighborhood that is part of the Audubon collection in Aliso Viejo, California. It’s just a few miles from Laguna Beach, and close to the 73 and 133 freeways.
Seagate Colony was built by Kathryn Thompson from 1989 to 1991 and has 416 units. These one and two bedroom condos are accented by garden style floor plans as well as gliding glass doors, private patios, and open kitchens. This community is located in the Laguna Audubon area on the corner of Aliso Creek Road and El Torro. Streets here were named after North American birds: Whippoorwill Lane, Cinnamon Teal, and Sandpiper Lane.
Community amenities include access to a swimming pool, spa, gym, and clubhouse. Residents are able to walk to Starbucks and a grocery store as well as to biking and hiking trails. Aliso Viejo has several excellent private schools. And the Capistrano Unified Public School District offers highly ranked facilities like Don Juan Avila Elementary School, Don Juan Avila Middle School, and Aliso Niguel High School. Some homes are also in the Laguna Beach School District which features Thurston Middle School and Laguna Beach High School. Soka University is nearby and offers a four year liberal arts program.
Seagate Colony is just minutes from the Laguna Beach Downtown area where visitors can take their pick of hundreds of art galleries. There is a variety of things to buy including “made in Laguna” décor, jewelry, clothing, and bath oils. There are also many restaurants, cafes, and nighttime entertainment.
For the outdoors enthusiast, the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park is close to Seagate Colony. It covers 7,000 acres of wilderness in the San Joaquin Hills and has trails for all levels of hiking and biking. This park has the only natural lakes in Orange County along with beautiful views of the ridgeline and canyons.
